Connecting the Gateway to specific boilers and heatpumps
If you cannot use the service connector, you have to use the EMS bus terminals or wires to connect the Gateway to. Below a number of examples for specific boilers and brands.
Heatpumps almost all have a service jack. See the previous page.
Bosch
Condens
Bosch Condens 2300i W, GC2300 W 24/30 C, GC2300i W 24/30 C

Condens 2500W, WBC 24-1 DE, WBC 28-1 DCE
This boiler has a combined EMS and on/off thermostat connector. If it has an on/off thermostat you cannot use the Gateway. In this case replace the on/off thermostat with an EMS thermostat.

Other Bosch
Some other Bosch boilers are rebranded ones from Buderus and Junkers. If your boiler is not listed above, check the other brands for a matching picture.

Worcester
Most Worcester Greenstar boilers are the same as Junkers above.

Remove the front cover, flip down the control board, and remove the plastic cover on the back.
Connect the Gateway to the BUS terminal on the right.

Other Greenstar
Some Greenstar boilers are not intended to be used with a thermostat and in that case the BB connector is missing from the circuit board. You cannot add a Gateway to such a boiler as these boilers do not have an EMS bus.

Some older Worcester boilers do have the BB connector but the EMS bus is only active when the optional integral diverter valve is installed. Please check if there is about 14,5V-15,5V on the BB pins. If there is only a few mV the EMS bus is not active on this connector. In these cases the EMS bus may be active on another header on the circuit board. Check if there is about 14,5V-15,5V on the two outer pins on this connector. If so, disconnect the boiler from mains power and solder a wire to these two pins. This can then be connected to the screw terminal of the Gateway.
