Connecting the Gateway to specific boilers and heatpumps
If you cannot use the service connector, you have to use the EMS bus terminals or wires to connect the Gateway to. Below a number of examples for specific boilers and brands.
Heatpumps almost all have a service jack. See the previous page.
Bosch Condens 2300i W, GC2300 W 24/30 C, GC2300i W 24/30 C
Condens 2500W, WBC 24-1 DE, WBC 28-1 DCE
This boiler has a combined EMS and on/off thermostat connector. If it has an on/off thermostat you cannot use the Gateway. In this case replace the on/off thermostat with an EMS thermostat.
Bosch Condens 7000iW, GC7000iW 35, GC7000iW 35 C, GC7000iW 42
Some other Bosch boilers are rebranded ones from Buderus and Junkers. If your boiler is not listed above, check the other brands for a matching picture.
This controller has an EMS bus but it does not provide meaningful interaction with the Gateway! The connector listed below is only for reference. You cannot use a Gateway with this controller.
Logamax Plus GB192 i
Some other Buderus boilers are rebranded ones from Bosch and Junkers. If your boiler is not listed above, check the other brands for a matching picture.

Smartline HR 11/24, HRC 24/CW3, HRC 24/CW4
Indien de Smartline is uitgerust met een RCC module op de EMS connector, verwijder deze dan en sluit tevens een EMS thermostaat aan. De RCC module is een klein wit blokje.
Most Junkers Cerapur have terminals marked ‘BB’.
Logamax 8000 i
Some other Junkers boilers are rebranded ones from Buderus and Bosch. If your boiler is not listed above, check the other brands for a matching picture.
Most Worcester Greenstar boilers are the same as Junkers above.
Remove the front cover, flip down the control board, and remove the plastic cover on the back.
Connect the Gateway to the BUS terminal on the right.
Some Greenstar boilers are not intended to be used with a thermostat and in that case the BB connector is missing from the circuit board. You cannot add a Gateway to such a boiler as these boilers do not have an EMS bus.
Some older Worcester boilers do have the BB connector but the EMS bus is only active when the optional integral diverter valve is installed. Please check if there is about 14,5V-15,5V on the BB pins. If there is only a few mV the EMS bus is not active on this connector. In these cases the EMS bus may be active on another header on the circuit board. Check if there is about 14,5V-15,5V on the two outer pins on this connector. If so, disconnect the boiler from mains power and solder a wire to these two pins. This can then be connected to the screw terminal of the Gateway.
The exposed circuit board has main voltage present so be careful!
