Description
This is the complete working base board version 1.1 of the current S32 Gateway.
So it’s the S32 internals without the microcontroller, enclosure, cables etc.
You will receive only the part exactly as it is shown in the image above.
If you use this board and a NodeMCU-32S (not included), you can easily build your own Gateway ready for EMS-ESP V3.
Just load the firmware and plug the ESP on the board, no Dupont wires needed. For some instructions see HERE.
This board is the complete circuit board that is inside the S32 Gateway.
It has a footprint for the NodeMCU-32S and it also has the JST connector for adding external Dallas sensors.
A premium quality buck type voltage regulator is on the board as well.
You can only use a real Ai Thinker NodeMCU-32S. (For instance an ESP32-DevKitC will not fit and it has a different pinout.)
You can use other ESP32 or microcontroller boards, but then you have to use DuPont cables to attach it.
See the pinout in the images.
This board can be powered from the EMS service jack or an external 6 to 12V DC power supply.
You can also power it via the USB connector on the NodeMCU-32S (not included).
All information on how to use this board see the dedicated wiki page HERE.
This board is NOT a substitute for the EMS Gateway!
This product is for those who like to play around with programming and microcontrollers.
It’s ONLY the hardware interface you need to interface with the EMS bus from a standard UART.
It does not come with any microcontroller or software.

The EMS Gateway S32 base board works perfectly. The online Wiki provided all necessary info regard functionality and connections. I’m finally able, with this board together with Homeassistant and Grafana, to fine-tune my recently bought Nefit Trendline II. The panel of the Trendline is providing some info regard settings and sensors, but I was looking for time based graphical charts, regard the performance of the Trendline in my house environment, during the daytime.
