This product now has a successor: the Gateway S32.
The EMS Gateway Premium II kit is the all time bestseller and includes everything you need to add your EMS devices to your home automation system.
Just plug in the device into the service jack on the boiler with the supplied jack cable and stick it to the side of the boiler.
No additional cables are needed and everything is powered from the jack itself or from the EMS bus wires.
Aside from the service jack you can also use the EMS/thermostat wires in parallel to the thermostat.
The Gateway connects via Wi-Fi to your home network.
Its all modular by design and neatly packed in a small enclosure (90x50x24mm) that fits into your hand.

On first boot the Gateway will create an access point on which you can login with a browser and make the appropriate settings for your own network. So for this kit you don’t need any soldering or real programming skills. You do however need to properly configure your home automation system. For Home Assistant MQTT is available and for Domoticz an easy to use plugin.
It has an additional connector for directly connecting Dallas 1-wire DS18B20 sensors.
The Gateway can be plugged into the service jack of the boiler, or you can connect it to the EMS bus via the thermostat wires instead. In the latter case it gets its power from the bus itself just like a normal thermostat.
In case there are already too many EMS devices on the bus, it can be powered with a USB adapter as well.
Because the Gateway is an ‚always on‘ device it contains high quality components like Panasonic and Murata capacitors for maximum longevity of the device.

The Gateway comes fully assembled, tested and loaded with the EMS-ESP firmware.
You can download the manual here.
The current firmware of the Gateway already supports the long list of these EMS devices.
If your device is not listed, it might very well be fully or partially compatible. In case you are missing parameters, you can always open an issue on the firmware repository to get support.
If you have an old Nefit Ecomline boiler or the control panel on your boiler looks like one of THESE, then your boiler is not EMS based but iRT. The Gateway will not work on iRT boilers without a modification nor is there any support in the firmware.

As already informed, at the begining it was not working; it was necessary to replace ESP 8266 from inside with another one that I buyed from another shop.
Just now i consider it a great tool, but for shure is necessary to pay attention when you as company/workshop sell something .

Ожидал от устройства немного большего (планировал иметь возможность управлять котлом), но углубившись в проблему управления понял что это действительно сложная задача. В итоге купил дополнительно контроллер rc300 и реализовал все что хотелось. Из полезного настроил вывод ошибок котла, что помогло устранить проблему в отопительный системе.

Works like a charm. Two things worth mentioning:
– Restart the gateway after MQTT connection changes
– I don’t know if you need to turn off the boiler for connect, because the (Buderus chosen) 3,5 headphone plug is prone to shortcut the pins during insertion. I did turn it off to be safe.

Control of my Junkers cerapur zsb 24-5 with two heating circuits (heater & underfloor heating) successfully set up. Since update to software version v2 with nice and clear UI. Functional and trouble-free control of the most important components / heating circuits & heating can be switched off completely or individually depending on my thermostats. Reading all status values enables efficient and logical control.

It works quite reliable with – apparently – re-boots now and then (I notice the blue LED flashing once a week – searching for WIFI?) . Possibly this is a supply voltage issue on the interface. I have connected it to the Buderus RC35, close to WIFI-router.

When purchased some month ago the gateway was not working in parallel to the IP-gateway of boiler (km200). Since firmware version 2.2 the gateway is now working stable. I need a seperate USB powersupply, since I wanted to connect to the EMS Bus and not the service jack.
The data communication works by mqqt and web-api absolutely stable. I wanted to control the circulation pump and get realtime data (every 10 secs) – this is working fine. KM200 does not support ww circulation but still has a lot of more other datapoints. For the combination of both (EMS-gateway and KM200) is ideal for me.
I hope for further developments of the firmware to add additional functionality and can recommend the gateway. The actual gateway version has already some further improvements in housing and connectors. Well done Kees.

Worth it’s money. Feels like a quality product to me, well designed user interface through webpage, easy to use by MQTT also. For me, only the data cable needed to be connected to my Nefit boiler, works fine!

Device works very well, with Buderus it brings dozens of useful entities for HA, thanks to MQTT it´s easy to use values for automations, lovelace components are 100%. Only thing that doesn´t fit with Buderus is the jack cable, better would be to add the cable witch 90° ending so that you can close the service door on Buderus Logamax after connecting…

I purchased to Gateway Premium II to control/monitor my Junkers Cerapur Comfort boiler with FW200 thermostat. All the configuration went very soothly without problems – the biggest „challange“ for me was actually disassembling Junkers boiler and connecting the cables inside, as I never done such things before 🙂 I have setup the EMS-ESP integrated into my OpenHab 3.0 installation. All went very easy and I created my Things/Items configuration files based on some examples from OpenHab forum. I have exposed all of that through OH cloud to OH mobile app (some screenshots from OH mobile app attached – however in Polish :)). All works very stable and seamlessly for the past few weeks. I do not plan to put any control/override through EMS-ESP on this installation (changing the parameters of the heating or hot water) as all is well set with my FW200 and weather based controller and I would like to enjoy just the readout of the current status of heating/hot water. Great product and easy to install!

Works out of the box with my old Junkers Ceraclass Excellence ZSC 28-3 MFA E 23. Thought i’d develop my own interface for this but Gateway Premium II (P2) is so well done it doesn’t worth the effort to re-invent the wheel. With EMS-ESP firmware pre-loaded it’s really just plug and play.

Great product and very easy installation. Hooked it up to the EMS-Bus via 2-wire.
I‘m facing some issue on my Buderus RC300 Thermostat now which is showing me the fault code „A11/1037“. This seems to be an issue with the external temperature sensor. This mistake only appears when the Gateway is connected. I checked the wiring and everything is fine. The fault message with the code disapears from time to time for a while and reapears again. I can monitor the mistake on the temperature graph of the RC300. It usually shows a solid line following the outside temperature. With the gateway connected it is interupted (see pictures).
The gateway itself has no quality losses or mistakes on the EMS Bus.
The system seems to run smooth and does what it should. But this mistake makes me nervous. Anybody else with a similar issue?

We discussed the problem and it’s a very specific issue with the combination of the GB192i/9000i boiler, a RC300/RC310 thermostat and the Gateway Premium II.
It was decided that the best solution was to return the product in exchange for the Gateway S32 which does not have this issue.
